Children Come First is proud to be recognized as a Texas Rising Star Provider through Childcare Assistance Services. We have been recognized with the highest rating (4 stars). Rising Star Centers meet standards that are higher than the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services Minimum Standards for Day Care Centers. These requirements include lower group sizes in the classrooms, additional annual training requirements for staff, and increased director and caregiver responsibilities in goals, activities, and equipment.  We joined the program in August of 2002 and in early 2003 had our first evaluation becoming a 4 star provider. Assessments are completed annually on our staff and center.

Teachers and Staff

All of our teachers maintain current training and certificationi: recognizing, and reporting child abuse, care for children with special needs, Food Handlers, CPR and First Aid. All staff are required a minimum of 30 hours of training a year. Staff caring for children under 24 months are trained in sudden infant death syndrome, shaken baby syndrome, and early brain development. Staff that may transport children after school or on field trip are trained each year in car seat safety and transportation safety. All staff have yearly training in Health and Safety which includes but not limited to immunizations, medication, communicable diseases,emergency preparedness, emergencies,hazardous material, and safety. Other yearly training's include but are not limited to: child growth and development, guidance and discipline, age-appropriate curriculum, and teacher-child interaction.
